4Front SDSL Self Install - Wires Only
Wires-only install
For the wires-only option, you need
to make sure you purchase an appropriate router (G.992.1 Annex
B compliant (SHDSL) SDSL) to connect to the line. For pricing
information please go to the pricing
and ordering page. You will need to connect your router
to a BT NTE5 as shown below.

Make sure that you obtain the right
cabling to connect your router to the NTE. Routers usually
come with an RJ11 to RJ11 cable. You will actually need a
BT plug to RJ11 standard modem cable. For best reliability,
we recommend that you use a single cable without an intermediate
adaptor such as the one below:

DSL Setting: SHDSL (also G.SHDSL or
G.991.2)
ATM settings: VPI = 0, VCI = 38
AAL Type: AAL5
Encapsulation: PPPoA with VC-mux (NOT LLC/SNAP)
Authentication: CHAP (NOT PAP)
Your SDSL username: username@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx
Your SDSL password: password (case sensitive)
