Below are a selection of the
most commonly and frequently asked questions we receive from
our clients. If you have a question that is not covered below,
please call our Customer Services on ++44 (0)845 258 1500.

What is Spam?
The definition of Spam is the flooding
of the Internet (sometimes millions) of the same message,
with the objective of reaching people who would not otherwise
choose to receive it. Most spam advertises dubious products,
get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services. The sender
of Spam incurs very little cost as most of the cost is paid
for by the recipient or the carriers (ISP's).
Why do we get Spam?
The spammers have many ways
of obtaining your e-mail address.
The use of 'harvest' software is popular and will obtain your
address from chat rooms, web pages, online bulletin boards
and usenet newsgroups that you may subscribe to. Not all websites
adhere to or provide privacy policies, so after subscribing
or purchasing online, your email address is sold on to spammers.
In some cases un-subscribing to services only serves to confirm
that your address is current, which makes it a saleable commodity
to other spammers.
What can we do to prevent Spam?
Firstly be diligent when issuing
your e-mail address, check privacy policies before registering
at websites, adopt a no e-mail address policy for incoming
phone calls. Do not put your email address on warrantee cards
as it may be a third party providing after sales. Have all
email's scanned and filtered prior to delivery.
Is Spam Legal?
At this moment in time yes!
There are many states in the US where anti-spam legislation
has been passed but with little effect. The problem in the
Laws eyes is that though Spam is annoying, it is still a form
of commercial speech. Additionally a large percentage of Spam
comes from outside of the country so making laws difficult
to enforce.
What is Bayesian Learning?
Spammers can trick most systems you put in place, but delivery
of their commercial message works against them when a Bayesian
filter learns from subject and message body content, applying
acquired knowledge to all future email's
